Morocco advanced to the World Cup quarter-finals after a commanding 3-0 victory over Canada in their round-of-16 match. Azzedine Ounahi scored twice in the second half, while Soufiane Rahimi added a late third to seal a convincing win for the Atlas Lions.

The first half was competitive, with Canada creating a few decent openings and Morocco’s goalkeeper Yassine Bounou making key saves to keep the game level. Morocco, however, grew stronger after the break and made their superiority count with a sharp attacking display and clinical finishing.

Ounahi opened the scoring with a well-taken finish from a free-kick routine before doubling the lead late in the match on a swift counterattack. Rahimi then wrapped up the result in stoppage time as Morocco underlined their quality and defensive discipline.

The victory sends Morocco into the last eight for the second straight World Cup, extending their reputation as one of Africa’s strongest footballing sides on the global stage. Canada’s historic run ends at the round of 16 after a strong tournament but a disappointing finish.
