Fresh off the success of the 9th AFRIMA in January, the continent’s foremost music awards platform is back with its next major event: the Diamond Party and Prize Presentation, set for the 3rd of June, 2026.

AFRIMA, in partnership with the African Union Commission, will host the Diamond Party at Voyage Lagos, centred on seven exceptional emerging talents identified during the 9th AFRIMA. AFRIMA’s Executive Vice President, Temi Fachane, described the event as both a celebration of emerging excellence and a launchpad to formally introducing the seven Diamonds to wider opportunities within the African and international music industry.

Beyond the party, the seven artists enter a structured development programme. They have been accepted to participate in the Showbiz 101 Workshop and Music Creation Camp organised by bridgeAFRIC, running in Lagos from 23rd to the 30th June 2026.

The Diamond Party follows a landmark awards edition. The 9th AFRIMA drew 1,216 artists and delegates from 48 African countries, with winners emerging from every region of the continent and the diaspora. Burna Boy’s album No Sign of Weakness took Album of the Year, Rema claimed multiple honours, and Qing Madi secured Most Promising Artiste of the Year. East, Southern, and Central Africa were all represented, from Tanzania’s Jux to Zambia’s Yo Maps to the DRC’s Cindy Le CÅ“ur.

The AU and AFRIMA formalised their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in January 2025. These are not just seven promising artists being introduced to an industry. They are the next chapter of a decade-long project to build Africa’s creative economy from the inside out.
